Story
Thanks to our employers, npower, and Notts County Football In the Community, Hannah and Martin will be going to Burkina Faso for a volunteering project. We'll be spending just under 2 weeks on the ground assisting with lifestyle and football coaching for children and young adults who live in very basic conditions
*** Facts about Burkina Faso ***
> it's the 3rd poorest country in the world
> 80% of the population are subsistance farmers & 40% of people survive on less than 70p per day
> only 25% of children aged 8-14 go to school, and of those, a third do not complete their education
> education must be paid for by families, including the teaching, books, stationary etc. Class sizes are often over 65 pupils per teacher and schools are often oversubscribed
*** Where your donations will go? ***
> Any donations we receive will be routed via charities on the ground (such as UNAIS aka International Service) to ensure that it goes to the right places and the right causes. Typically, this will be to provide stationary and books for schools, sports equipment, and basic life & healthcare materials. You can have confidence that all money donated will reach the intended recipients and most importantly, it will make a difference.
