Story

Hello everyone,

Thanks for visiting my page. The reason I have set up this event is in loving memory of my nanny, who unfortunately passed on the 25th September 2020. On my nan's birthday, 31st October,  I will be running 71 lengths of a football pitch to celebrate what was nearly 71 years of her life. The donations will be going to the Rennie Grove Hospice, who provided visits to her at our home, and where it was planned for her to spend the end of her life. They are all amazing people doing amazing things, thank you so much.

My nan was diagnosed with lung cancer, and after battling in hospital for a few weeks, it was planned for her to spend some time at my family's home, before the time came for her to move into a hospice. It was really not a nice experience seeing her in this way, however she was definitely happier to be with us.  Unfortunately, she never made it to the hospice and we lost my lovely nan at home on the 25th September.

I absolutely adored her; she was hilarious, so caring (way too generous!) and we were very close. We miss her so much, however we'll remember and reflect on all of the happy and funny memories we shared over the years.

She would find me crazy for doing this, but I'm doing this to celebrate her life on her birthday, and to everyone at the hospice, who deal with this day to day.

Any donation, no matter how little, would be greatly appreciated in order to support the work of these carers, and wish me luck for the running!

Lastly, please don't smoke - it's not worth it.
