Anyone who knows us knows we are not natural runners, but we want to raise money for a charity that is very important to us so have decided to run a 10k on the 12th of November.
We are running for Fertility Network UK. Although not always easy to talk about we wanted to share our story to encourage people to donate to this very worthwhile cause. We are one of the 1 in 6 couples who has difficulty in having a family naturally. We know from our own experience that this is a tough and emotional journey. The Fertility Network provides information and support to those struggling to conceive.
Even though we cannot conceive naturally we are lucky with the amount of NHS support that we can receive, without the NHS and charities like Fertility Network, having a family is something that would be out of reach for us. The Fertility Network campaigns for equality of access to funded IVF cycles that is consistent with NICE recommendations, rather than dependent on where you live.
Fertility is not something that most people find easy to talk about, but it is a problem that affects literally millions of UK couples. Until fertility becomes less taboo, those struggling to conceive will continue to need access to accurate information and support.
THANK YOU so much for your support, you really do not know how much it means to us
Hannah and Gareth
