Story
Hi,
On October 9th I am running the Chester Marathon. Lots of you know that I have run marathons before but this one is more important for me to complete than any others. The reason for this is because I am running it for a very special little girl ‘Aoife’ and the charity ‘Bliss’ that helped her and her mum and dad during those first important weeks of her life.
My best friend Sam had been in hospital for a couple of weeks with suspected pre-eclampsia and very early on the morning of Tuesday 10th May Sam’s blood pressure was so dangerously high that the decision was made to perform an emergency c-section. Later that morning Aoife was born, 5 weeks premature and weighing in at just over 3lb. The following weeks for Aoife were spent in the special baby care unit at Chester hospital with Sam only able to spend time with her during the day. As you can imagine this was a stressful and heartbreaking time for both mum and dad. The charity ‘Bliss’ provided them with vital support and care, offering them guidance and information at that critical time. Sam cannot speak more highly of the work that they do.
So when Sam asked me to run it for ‘Bliss’ I could not think of a more perfect reason and it seemed fitting as both our journeys had started that week. My training had started only the day before Aoife was born!
Now I am 5 weeks away from the marathon and Aoife is whopping 11lb!! She has come such a long way in a short period of time. Take a look at the photoos and see for yourself J
So, if you can, please sponsor me and help this amazing charity.
Thank you,
Hannah
