Story
This April, we are running, walking and stair-climbing the equivalent of 4 UK Peaks to help raise money and awareness for CATTs (Cancer Awareness for Teens & Twenties). That's 27,500 stairs and 63km!
During the pandemic, there has been a 75% drop in cancer referrals, with less people willing to report their symptoms due to not wanting to add pressure to the NHS. This is an incredibly worrying statistic, given that usually, around 14 people aged 15-29 are diagnosed with cancer every day.
CATTs want a future for all young people across the UK to have access to essential health education and practical support, so cancer can be detected earlier. Through interactive self-checking workshops, they work to give every young person access to vital health education, allowing them to:
- be empowered
- know their own bodies and spot
symptoms - feel confident communicating
health worries
That's why we're taking on this challenge to help share their awareness messaging and raise funds for their vital work with young people. CATTs is a small charity, but has a huge impact.
We're so grateful for any support you can give to this wonderful cause! ❤️
Thank you so much....and wish us luck!
