Story

Hello everyone!

My name is Hannah, I'm a final year history student at the University of Nottingham and just incase graduating was too easy I thought I'd run a half marathon!

I'm running the Vitality London Half Marathon with four other StAR members from across the UK. Our team name is Star Crossed Runners and we're aiming to raise a total of £2,500 for Student Action for Refugees to commemorate its 25th birthday this November.  The abbreviation is StAR and when I explain the wonderful work they do you'll appreciate that abbreviation even more.

StAR was started 25 years ago as a society in the University of Nottingham to help refugees in the local area. 25 years later and I'm the vice president of the same society, helping to organise conversational classes between students and refugees twice a week, helping students study for the International English Language Test aswell as encouraging our students to apply for university.

This is SUCH a worthy cause and through StAR I have met some of the loveliest people and have very fond memories. Before I graduate I would love to raise money for the society that has brought me so much joy every Tuesday and Wednesday. Please donate if you can and if you can't then please send me any advice on how to run a half marathon or share with your friends!

Best wishes!
