Harbhajan John Birk - beloved and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle - and adored Nanaji - passed away on March 1, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones in his final days, hours and moments, it was a peaceful, beautiful and joyful experience, freeing him from the body that was experiencing such pain. 

This would not have been possible if not for the comfort and gentle, discrete, attentive care offered by the extraordinary team in the Palliative Care unit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. The caregivers there moved heaven and earth to ensure this part of the journey was as comfortable and well-supported as possible. We know, though, that they work with limited resources and equipment, and we would like to support them in helping other families through what would otherwise be much darker days.
