Story
The Christie charity is aiming to raise £23 million for the proposed construction of a new centre in Macclesfield where Christie patients will be able to receive outstanding cancer care, closer to home.
Our founder and CEO, Ciarán Harkin, will be setting off on the 13th August 2021, to cycle from his new home town of Bollington, passing through Wales enroute to the ferry to Ireland.
From Dublin he will cycle to Ireland's most southerly point, Mizen Head, before turning around and cycling all the way up the West Coast to Malin Head, the most northern point of Ireland. Oh and enroute he is climbing Ireland's highest mountain, Mount Carrauntoohil.
On his way up Ireland, he will be joined by our other Co-Founder, Brian McCann, and the pair will return to Belfast after Malin Head, before Ciarán catches his next ferry to Scotland.
From Stranraer he will cycle to Gretna Green, before pedalling through the Lake District, Lancashire and returning home to his family in Bollington.
