We support children in hospital and at home to make a difference to their lives

Story

Last year, 2017, I (Hannah Hall) took on an enormous challenge to get healthy, get fit, to be a better person and support charities close to me. All inspired by my niece Harmonie- Rose who lost all four limbs to the devil that is Meningitis B. Harmonie shows me daily that life is for living, it’s to short and that the impossible is possible!.

Harmonie-Rose a normal little girl, with normal dreams and aspirations like any other 5 year old!..except for one huge difference that she does not let get in her way!..At 10 months old, Harmonie was faced with the grime reality of having her legs and arms amputated to save her very life. That said however, the determination, resilience and strength that she has shown has been nothing short of a miracle!.. In fact it is somewhat ironic that now we will attempt to push her around when Harms is not the type of person to let anyone push her around!!

Due to weather conditions I was unable to complete one of my challenges last year, The Bath half. Now, however, I think that was for a very big reason!..Fate I think we should call it!..

The charity Time is Precious, whose support has been so gratefully received by Harmonie and her parents over the years, have offered us an extraordinary opportunity. To push Harmonie around the whole distance of The Bath Half 2019. For Harmonie to attempt to complete the Bath half. A challenge that until now has never been done before!..No child has ever participated in the full Bath half marathon!..until now!....

Time is Precious is a fantastic charity offering to help create a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for children and their families in hospital or at home.
The charity works alongside specialists to purchase equipment and refurbish areas to support not just those children who because of illness or disability find themselves in hospital for treatment but also their families who want to be with them because time is just that precious.

I will not be taking on this challenge alone!...running alongside me, helping with the push and just generally being amazing are some of my fellow runners from the Hannah the Runner community!..who without their help I would never have achieved my goals over this last year!..
Hannah Lees, Clare Carwardine, Chris Bond and Joanne Downing!..thanking them eternally!

Also completing the challenge with me are two of Harmonie’s teachers from Combe Down Primary School.

Mr Wainer and Mrs Imrie will be joining the team to support Harmonie who is in their class, and inspire the School to follow their efforts!
Harmonie joined Mr Wainer’s class in September 2018 and already she, and her classmates, have made a positive impact on the School.
Mr Wainer and Mrs Imrie felt that it would be important for the School community to be involved, to show how the School values it’s children and how their run could inspire Harmonie’s fellow pupils to be involved in fundraising.

Some of us have run a half before some of us haven’t, we certainly have not pushed a wheelchair around the whole 13.1 miles!

So if you have a little spare change to support us and this fantastic charity, we would love your kind donations and love you to cheer us on!..We are Harmonie’s heroes and so very very proud to be able to take part and run with Harmonie.

We are also hoping that Harmonie will be able to get out of her chair and run those last few metres with us!...steps the doctors said she would never take!!!

Get your capes ready, your masks on, come support us, Team Harmonie’s Heroes are on track!! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
