GOSHCC Inca Trek 2015 · 18 September 2015 to 27 September 2015 ·

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

As many of you know, my nephew Jacob has MPS I Hurlers Syndrome which is a rare genetic life limiting disease to which there is no cure. Due to the work of great charities & hospitals they've discovered that a bone marrow transplant is the only treatment that will allow sufferers to live past their teens. Jacob had a bone marrow transplant in August last year at Great Ormond St hospital & is now home recovering & looking forward to celebrating his 2nd birthday on 3rd March! However, he will continue to need care & treatment from GOSH for most of his life as he'll need orthopaedic surgery to correct the skeletal issues the bone marrow transplant can't help. He also has a lung disease & complicated gastro issues that mean he's fed through a tube into his stomach.

So I want to raise money for GOSH so they can continue treating & saving the lives of all the children that need their help.

Anyone that knows me will know what an incredibly lazy person I am! On the rare occasions that I could force myself to go to the gym, I used to drive there! So trekking 50km & up to 4600m high will be a massive challenge for me! Not to mention the altitude sickness, .... no running water for a nice hot shower or working toilet! ... It's going to be tough!

So please please sponsor me!
