Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I am running the Edinburgh Half Marathon in May to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

About two years ago, my dad, big Andy Lake, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I didn’t realise it at the time, but Parkinson’s affects an individual so much more than just a tremor. It can affect facial expressions, the ability to swallow, not to mention the psychological impact as a disease that has no cure and worsens over time.

So, I’ve decided since my dad (and my mum) are such avid runners, that running a half marathon would be the best way to raise money for a cause that needs much more funding and attention.

Any donations would be so appreciated!
