Story
I always wanted to take part in the London Marathon but after several years of failed ballot attempts I was left feeling disappointed (but secretly relieved) to not receive a space. It seemed like I was never going to get the opportunity, but this year was different when my friend Jo said she could get me a place to run the challenging 26.2 miles for a charity close to her heart; Dreams Come True. So here I am feeling determined, excited, motivated and ready to tackle the long road of training ahead!
I’ve somehow managed to persuade one of my best friends Grace to sign up and run with me. We usually love marathon day with a drink in hand, supporting all the crazy runners. However, It’s going to be a little bit different this year as we will be the other side of the barrier, running and scanning the crowd for support from all our friends and family. Save the date and come and see us!
Here’s a little bit more about why sponsoring me will make a difference. Dreams Come True help children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions, the charity quite simply enhances the quality of their lives. Over the last 30 years they have fulfilled dreams for more than 6,000 children and young people, as well as their friends, family and carers too. One family in particular they have supported is Jo's, for her daughter Alex. Just like my dream of running the marathon turned into a reality, I'd love to raise awareness for this amazing charity, enabling them to be able support other young children who so desperately want their dreams to come true.
