"My thanks to Harriet for raising funds for cancer research. Those of us touched by the scourge of cancer either directly or indirectly know how devastating it can be. My personal journey with cancer has been peppered with love support of family, friends, comrades and those I have helped through my work and activism as well as and extraordinary efforts by NHS staff and clinicians all of whom have treated with utmost respect and dignity.
