Bupa Great Manchester Run 2014 · 18 May 2014 ·

Following the horrific murder of Sophie Lancaster, her family wanted to ensure a lasting legacy to their beautiful, bright creative daughter and so The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was established and it became a registered charity in 2009. We do this through various means including education.

Story

I’ve decided to take part in the Great Manchester run to raise money for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.  Following the horrific murder of Sophie Lancaster, her family wanted to ensure a lasting legacy to their beautiful, bright creative daughter.  This is a charity I have always supported and also had the pleasure of working closely with whilst working at PULP. They aim to raise awareness of prejudice against subcultures though campaigning and educational work. They also work to have UK Hate Crime extended to include "Alternative Subcultures".  For more details visit their website > http://www.sophielancasterfoundation.com/

Those of you who know me will be aware I hate running and I’m also not very good at it.  As such both the training and the event itself are set to be a massive challenge for me.  I really appreciate any donation you can make (no matter how small) and any encouragement you can give me to help me along the way! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, wish me luck!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
