Story
I am part of a team from Royal Russell School which will travel to the Pius Junior School in the countryside of Uganda in July. The school serves a wide area and some children need to stay at school as boarders. At the moment their accommodation is very cramped and there are others waiting to join the boarding section. With your help the Royal Russell team will complete the building and equipping of two new dormitories. We will look to provide a tiled floor, glass in the windows, new mattresses and mosquito nets and build toilets and washrooms. Our team also hopes to refurbish some dilapidated classrooms and provide teachers with much needed learning resources. It’s important to understand that this trip is about learning and living in a new culture - we will live as one community and we hope that everyone involved learns from the experience. We believe that it will be a trip that we will remember forever that will impact on both our lives and hopefully those of the people that we meet on our trip.
Before travelling to Uganda I am hoping to raise money which the Pius school will use to make improvements to their school. To do this I will be climbing “The Three Peaks” of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa with a team of my friends over three days at the end of May Bank Holiday weekend and I would greatly appreciate your sponsorship. Your contributions will go straight to the Pius School to help it provide education to more children. All donations large and small are gratefully received! Thank you for your support and generosity and don’t forget to add Gift Aid if you can!
Thank you, Harrison
