Story

What I am doing: Many of my family and friends have done lots of things to help raise money for the charity I am supporting. Now it is my turn. On 2nd December Harrison's big give gig will take place with the Garage Band as the main act, they will be supported by special guests 'Thursday'.  Why not get a group of family, friends or colleagues together and use it as the start of your Christmas celebrations.

A little bit about me: In October 2016 after a few weeks of not feeling well I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), a few days later my consultant came with more news - after further tests they had discovered I had a rarer sub-type of ALL, my new diagnosis was Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (Ph+ ALL).  My treatment started immediately and I was put on a very intensive regime of High Risk Chemotherapy.  I spent most of the time from diagnosis until the middle of February in hospital (including Christmas and New Year), I was let home then because the nasty chemo had sent my kidneys into failure and I couldn't have any more chemo until they had recovered enough - this took almost 4 months!  The chemo has caused me lots of symptoms and side effects.  I also managed to get a blood clot in my brain which then meant I had to have blood thinning injections and be carefully monitored.  I have had too many blood and platelet transfusions to count, been under anaesthetic for procedures again to many times to count.  I have been prodded, poked, had feeding tubes down my throat on top of daily medication.  I can't possibly list everything that has happened to me but the main thing is I have missed out on being a normal teenage boy.

Why I have chosen Cure Leukaemia: During all of this my family have grown close to Cure Leukaemia.  Cure Leukaemia are a local charity who are working extremely hard on finding a cure for people like me.  Professor Craddock says that the cure is within reach - I want to help reach that cure sooner rather than later, so please will you help me to help Cure Leukaemia by raising vital funds.

Thank you

Harry
