HOW YOUR DONATION CAN HELP AGE UK BEDFORDSHIRE:

  • £20 would buy an emergency COVID survival box containing toilet roll, soap, hand gel, tea, coffee, soup flask, and other essential items.

  • £10 pays for a week’s supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for one of our Home Support and Care Workers.  As we are a charity we do not fit the criteria to have PPE supplied Free of Charge. We are spending thousands of pounds to ensure our team of over 100 workers have protective equipment when they visit over 1000 older people in their homes. Please help us to keep them all safe and healthy.

  • £5 per week will pay for one of our telephone befrienders to make calls to around 20 people who are scared, lonely and isolated. We are experiencing high increases in referrals to our Telephone Friendship Network during COVID-19. We turn no one away but the costs of telephone calls is rising. Help us to talk to older people who are stuck in their homes, worried about COVID-19 with no one to talk to or share their thoughts. Our befrienders are a calm and listening ear to help take some of the worry and stress out of older peoples lives.

  • £20 will enable us to train new volunteers coming on board to help older people with their shopping, by giving them informaiton and procedures for safe money handling for customers, health and safety, specific COVID-19 training on PPE and processes to keep everyone safe. This amount will pay for all the necessary documents and paperwork required plus an initial supply of the PPE required.
