Walking across the Isle of Wight in a completely straight line · 28 August 2022
We are aiming to walk 34km across the Isle of Wight in a completely straight line with a maximum deviation of 25m. This includes walking through a quarry, recycling centre, caravan parks, a golf course, a monestary, multiple farms and across a lake. Not to mention the copious hedge rows, roads and fences that will fall on the line.
Hours have been spent finding the perfect route across the Isle of Wight avoiding built up areas and sticking to farmland as much as possible, however, there are still many obstacles on the route as well as the possibility of being confronted by angry farmers with shotguns.
The route will be fully tracked on a Garmin GPS to monitor any deviation from the line of which we are aiming to stick within 25 metres of.
