We support serving and ex-prisoners to access second chances through education

Story

Those who know me know that this is a charity that is very important for me. I am running the Bath Half Marathon with my good friend Sheridan in support of their work and would appreciate any contribution to the cause! I am significantly less fit than I was this time last year so that could be interesting to follow too...

Here is one of our scholars, one of the 300-plus young people that The Longford Trust has helped. He is now a trainee accountant. The Longford Scholarships were set up in 2004 by the Longford Trust in memory of the former cabinet minister Lord Longford (1905-2001), a life-long campaigner for prison reform and, more generally, those on the margins of society. He believed in the paramount importance of education in the rehabilitation of those who have served jail sentences.
