Nystagmus means involuntary movements of the eye. It impairs vision, affecting focus and depth perception. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born with nystagmus. There is currently no cure. The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity which provides support, raises awareness and funds research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm Harry, I'm 6 years old and I was diagnosed with Nystagmus when I was 10 months old. It's a wobbly eye condition which means I find reading, playing sports and sometimes socialising tricky among other things. There is currently no cure for Nystagmus so mummy is now a Trustee for the Nystagmus Network helping the great guys there look for a cure and also support families with the condition. Nystagmus Network have been a great support to us over the last five years.

I love to raise money for charity and this time i'm going to do a triathlon with my family on Saturday 21st July so please do come and cheer me on or maybe help me out! Bring your bike if you like and mummy will bring food and drinks! I'm going to do half an hour of swimming (at Cheadle pool at 3pm) followed by a 1 mile run and then a 1 mile cycle at 4pm at Chorlton Water Park! It's tricky for me to do these things so I really hope you will sponsor me and i'll be very excited to see the amount going up on mummy's computer! :)

Thanks everyone, Love Harry Turnbull xx

(Ps - please could you not tell your children that Harry has Nystagmus as he doesn't know he has it himself, just that he finds some things tricky. We wouldn't want anyone to say it to him. He thinks he's raising money for other people which he loves doing, thank you everyone xxx)
