Story
On 22 May 2006, we all lost a very special young man in a tragic road accident. He was just 16 years old. Harry Watts was a talented young rugby player who proudly wore his No 11 shirt for Cranleigh Rugby Club's Under 16's team. With a dynamic and "cheeky" outlook on life, he cha11enged everything in his path and always had a smile on his face .
Originally, we cha11enged you to help us raise at least £11,000 in Harry's memory by the end of the current Rugby season. By the end of December, we'd not just met but exceeded that target which is a huge tribute to a very special young man. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have thrown themselves so whole-heartedly into all sorts of events to support this worthy cause. We made the decision to double our target to £22,000 to be raised by the end of May 2007. The funds raised will go to the Wooden Spoon and will make a significant contribution to helping disadvantaged children in the Surrey area. STOP PRESS!!! A big thank you to all of of you who came along and supported The Harry Watts Cha11enge Rugby Festival at Cranleigh RFC on Sunday 29 April! Once again, you exceeded our expectations with your huge generosity and as you can see, the target goes up again. £30,000 is easily within our reach and just the Big Walk to go.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Wooden Spoon will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
