An Appeal to raise £2,000 per year for funds to assist the development of Triratna Buddhist Community activities in Ontario, Canada.

I'm Harshaprabha, Ordained into the the Triratna Buddhist Order in 1982.  I've been visiting Toronto and Guelph since 2004 and Goderich since 2010, all on a bi-annual basis and have the vision to establish a Triratna Buddhist Community presence in the Province.  I also visited Sudbury in June 2015 and lead a very successful weekend of Newcomers Events supported by friends from Southern Ontario.

The intention is to raise funds to cover my two return air fares from the UK and if possible, a once a year return air fare for an Order Member living in Vancouver or the USA to contribute to Dharma activities.

Your donation will support and encourage the establishment  of the Triratna Buddhist Community in Ontario.  A community which values and exemplifies friendship and spiritual friendship.

I aim to raise £2,000.00 every year through your kindness and generosity.  I have over the past 10 years years raised over £3,500.00 which you can see at the top of the page, some of this was spent helping a friend Cam from Ontario visit our movement in the UK.  He engaged with the Ipswich and Colchester Buddhist Centres and went on retreat at Padmaloka Retreat Centre in Norfolk.  The other key expenditure has been paying for my flights and supporting travel.  The balance in the account at the end of 2019 was £148.09.

I am now retired and anticipate myself to be more reliant on other's generosity as I used to regularly contribute form my own savings for the visits.  This I plan to continue but my savings and pension are limited.

In these uncertain times in the World it would be very worthwhile to develop new locations in the World to spread the Dharma as translated, transmitted and exemplified by Urgyen Sangharakshita, all of which continues to benefit many people throughout the World.
