Story
Hartham United was formed in memory of our son Alfie who sadly was born sleeping on the 29th July 2015 this is the hardest thing we will ever have to go through as Parents, we were left in pieces when we were told the news hours before he was born that his heart had stopped during a routine check up after being 7 days overdue.
We didn’t know what to do with ourselves, had it not been for the support of our family and friends, we don’t know where we would be now. It was also the charity 4Louis that we owe a lot to, with the memory boxes they create for bereaved parents, the contents of this is something we will cherish forever, having Alfie’s footprints, handprints, photo’s and a little story book called “Guess how much I love you” this truly meant the world.
We had such a strong connection together through football, so in 2018, we decided to run a charity football match for Alfie to raise money for 4Louis, before we knew it we had 25+ players, the club in itself and my friends who joined I’ll never be able to thank enough, since forming this team my mental health has improved. This went from a Charity match to a football club playing to raise money for the 4Louis Charity.
Hartham United Football Club was formed to raise money and awareness for 4Louis, this started as something which kept us busy and improved Andy’s mental state but now it’s gone beyond that, the club is now an open community, anyone who represents this club understands the club’s values and wants to help us grow.
We ask our players to get sponsored £25 per season, this is donated into this JustGiving page, so by sponsoring a player, you’re donating to 4Louis.
Money raised goes towards Memory Boxes which are distributed to hospitals nationwide.
