Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Paul & Charlotte, Harvey's parents, are being joined by family and friends in September 2018 when they all participate in the Bubble Rush, Leicester.
Harvey was 7 months old when he lost his fight against SMA Type 1 in October 2017. He was a bright, happy, beautiful boy who loved his BUBBLE baths!! In his short life he spread so much love and happiness which continues to be present through all that knew him.
Following his diagnosis in July 2017, the family were introduced to Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The initial visit was hard but the care and compassion from staff began that day and still continues today.
Harvey loved attending Rainbows to use the hydrotherapy pool and sensory room and Paul & Charlotte soon looked forward to the special times and ultimately, memories they made when they went - they were even made to eat by staff before being allowed home! They didn't just take care of Harvey's needs but they took care of his parents too.
When Harvey lost his fight, this care and compassion culminated into something that Paul and Charlotte will never forget and will always be grateful to Rainbows for. Due to the facilities at the Hospice they were all able to remain as a family whilst planning Harvey's special service, guided and supported by their dedicated support worker.
No parent ever wants to have to be in that position, but Rainbows and it's staff made the whole process easier and helped them make more special memories to treasure forever.
Sadly there will always be a need for Rainbows but without funding they would not be able to continue to support and care for those children with life limiting or life threatening conditions or their families.
