Story

Hi, my name is Harvey & I am 16 years old

I am a very happy, social & cheeky young man who has a passion for Music especially Rock 'n' Roll. My idol is Elvis!

My Mum, always tells me how proud she is of me as I always try my hardest

I suffer from Quadriplegic Spastic & Cerebral Palsy due to brain damage (which affects 3 of my limbs, my left arm, hand and both my legs) The left side of my body is affected the most

I have very limited use of my left arm and I have a deformity in my left wrist and hand which i am having surgery on at Great Ormond Street Hospital in February

I have a severe vision impairment and I also have a diagnosis of Global Development Delay which means I am delayed in all areas of communication, learning and need full assistance with 1-1 care for feeding, washing, dressing, changing, using the toliet, transfers into my equipment etc

I also have a history of Epilepsy caused by focal seizures which can progress to a tonic/clinic seizure. I can go very stiff, fall or have a convulsation down both sides of my body which can lead to calling an ambulance immediately and makes me feel very sleepy and very unwell

Due to alot of indepth research, Mum found a fantastic team of private physios which is helping prolong my progress

However it costs alot of money for me to attend each week and unfortunately this treatment is NOT available to me on the NHS

I am a very active young lad, who loves a challenge and I know I have a lot more to give to reach my full potential of living life with Cerebral Palsy

I'm at my happiest when I'm on my feet and I would give anything to be able to dance freely from my wheelchair

I only receive physiotherapy from the NHS 3 times a year via a group session which sadly isn't enough to help me progress, to learn things I could do independently if I was given the chance

Mini Wonders Physiotherapy can help provide 1-1, 1.5hrs weekly sessions and intense blocks when required but at a cost of £80+ an hour

So I am asking for your help, to raises funds for me and other children who suffer from similar conditions, through this amazing charity called Tree of hope

I promise to do my best to ensure that the money you help me to raise, will help me to accomplish my dreams of becoming independent.

I know I have a long journey ahead of me but with your help, I know I can do this :)

It's doesn't matter how much or how little you have to offer, every penny counts!

If we manage to exceed the target, the extra money will go towards other children through Tree of hope.

Thank you for taking the time in reading my story & thank you to those how have helped us so far

All our love Charlotte (Harvey's Mum) & Harv xx
