Story
Thank you for visiting my page!
After a selective interview process, this summer I will be working in rural Ghana for one month, enhancing education and using innovative, active methods to teach English (BA PPE, A Level English Lit).
This is a funded volunteering opportunity through Warwick in Africa, a charity that has been running for 10 years and benefited over 210,000 teachers and students.
It's fundamental aim is to liberate Ghanian, Tanzanian and South African youth from poverty with the most potent weapon - education.
This is a sustainable, replicable and scalable model.
I am fundraising £500 to ensure the sustainability of the program, so that we can continue to fund the project year on year. None of the money raised goes towards the University of Warwick or administration costs. 100% goes towards providing human resources to schools in Ghana, Tanzania and South Africa so that teachers and children can be exposed to new pedagogical styles.
Any donations of any amount would be incredibly appreciated. It only cost £17 to fund a child's education for one month.
In preparation I am studying TEFL techniques, I have taught Debating at CTC academy (Birmingham) for over a year (Debatemate) as well as having experience sharing knowledge to adults and youth in South India for three months (Raleigh, ICS).
If you would like to know more about the program - the easiest way would be to watch the BBC documentary attached in the gallery below.
