Islamic Help looks after more than 800 orphans in the Middle East as part of their orphan sponsorship programme. That number is growing daily.

As well as providing food, water, education, medical care and welfare for their daily needs, they have launched a very special programme – sending Palestinian refugee orphans on a blessed journey to Mekkah to perform Umrah.

In early 2015, they took their first party of Palestinian
orphans from Jordan to Mekkah. It was the first time they had travelled to another country.

The journey was an experience of emotion and tears, with the youngsters describing a strengthening and renewal of faith, excitement and awe as they entered the Haram and performed Tawaaf around the Ka’bah..

The group, accompanied by Islamic Help staff from the UK and Jordan, also went to Almedina Almonawara to pray in Almasjid Alnabawy, the mosque of our blessed Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

In January 2016, Islamic Help were able to take more than 650 Palestinian orphans on Umrah. In 2017 Islamic Help have taken another 250 Orphan boys, girls and widows to perform Umrah in January.

These blessed journeys, were the realisation of a dream for
their guardians and remaining parents. Already struggling against adversity, they could never have imagined their offspring and wards making such a journey to the heart of Islam.

I was so touched by the programme that I have decided to raise £1,000 to sponsor 2 orphans to go on Umrah next year. I hope that you can support me by donating any amount that you can and by sharing this with your contacts to help me reach my target. Collectively, I know we can sponsor at least two children for their blessed journey and perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity for them. Just remember what it may mean to them, the du'as their hearts and limbs will make for you!

By donating to Islamic Help's 'Umrah for Orphans' campaign you are aiding the psycho-social rehabilitation programme that is provided to sponsored orphans under their care. The mental and emotional well being of these children is equally as important and is often easily overlooked. Many Palestinian orphans have already been through so much in their short lives and the opportunity to perform umrah not only provides them with hope but also an emotional and life changing experience which they might not otherwise experience. Help make a difference to orphans' lives and bring a smile to their face... show them that they're not alone in this world.
