We are a group of 12 people who are friends and family of Lois. You have a age range of 21-54 within us and everyone has very mixed ability. We all bring something different to the team. It is always fun and a laugh with us.

Story

Our motley crew across the years have undertook multiple different challenges in order to raise money for charity. This time The Avengers have assembled to raise money for the amazing Young Lives vs Cancer (YLVC) by partaking in London to Brighton Ultra marathon 100km aka 62.2 mIles.

We know too well of some of the ways YLVC help, as one of our team was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer in 2018 at 19 years old. YLVC supported Lois and her family by offering day to day support via a social worker/PA, a free place to stay at their home away from home and continued support for future goals and aspirations.

Young Lives Vs Cancer also raise awareness, support children in going back to school, provide play specialists within the wards, help with cancer costs, offer bereavement support and lots more.

So, where does the money we raise go?

£25 - will enable a social worker to support a family for an hour

£70 - a family can stay at a home away from home for two nights

£100 - is a registration grant for a family whose child is diagnosed with cancer

£570 - a play specialist for a whole week.

Wish us luck, we will need it.
