Story

More than half the children in some parts of the UK start school with a communication difficulty and are likely to struggle with talking, understanding, learning and making friends. I CAN is a UK charity supporting children so that they have the communication skills they need. Its mission is that no child should be left out or left behind because of a difficulty speaking or understanding. You can support that mission today!

I am going to be running the UK’s most prestigious race, The London Marathon, in April 2018 to raise money to help towards the care and support that all children need and deserve.

My mam, Norma, works for I CAN’s Dawn House School in Rainworth Nottingham and has done so now for a number of years. Dawn House School is an ‘Outstanding’ specialist school for children and young people aged 5-19 years with a severe or complex communication difficulty or Asperger’s Syndrome.

I would like to help her, her school and also the wider charity so that they can continue to provide their excellent services to a whole range of children and by pushing my abilities to the limit, I hope I can raise awareness and all important funding for I CAN.

Please help me reach my target and spread the word!

Thank you
Warren

About the charity

At least 1.9 million children in the UK are struggling to talk and understand words.  We give children and young people the skills they need so they aren't left behind. We do this by creating tools for schools and nurseries, giving advice and guidance to families and putting pressure on politicians.
