Story
Ho-Ho-Ho children (and grown-ups),
As you might already know, the annual Great Skipton Santa Fun Run takes place on Sunday 27th November. What you might NOT know though, is that a SANTA TEAM will be taking part on behalf of Project 6!
Project 6 is an award winning local charity that helps thousands of people and families suffering from drug and alcohol problems each year to get better and move on.
So, as our Santa’s are taking time out of our busy pre-Christmas schedule to appear at this important event, all the money raised will go to helping make this Christmas a memorable one for their service users and, most importantly their children.
Christmas can be a difficult time for people and families struggling with drug or alcohol problems. Every year we provide a Christmas party for 90-100 service users and their families. This includes a cooked Christmas dinner and festive activities. Each person receives a gift.... delivered in person by Santa Clause in his Christmas grotto.
Providing a Christmas party with great food and worthwhile gifts helps support families who are using our services to stay motivated and keep on with their recovery in ways which benefit our local communities.
So – your donation, amongst other things it will help to provide a hearty Christmas dinner, a children’s party and a small gift for everyone who attends. Any surplus funds will provide equipment and materials for their “Growing Recovery” allotment.
We appreciate that it will be difficult to spot us – the REAL Santa’s– amongst a couple of thousand imitations, it’ll be like a giant, festive game of where’s Wally!
