In September this year I will be taking part in the Stafford half marathon in memory of my Mom Hilary and raising funds for Katharine House Hospice

My Mom sadly lost her battle with cancer last June and shared her last days at a place very close to our families heart, Katharine house Stafford. 

Since 2016 my Mom battled cancer for the second time and as a family we would not have got through the last 5 years without the support of Katharine house. Not only the support they gave my Mom but also my Dad. My Mom experienced a variety of care over the years with various stays and weekly day care sessions that were offered and also offered to my Dad.

The help and support they give to families is invaluable and if I can help raise funds so that another family or loved one can have a slice of what my Mom received I would be happy.

Covid has played a huge part and not helped with grieving for my Mom but running has been a big release for me so this only seems the most fitting way to do something (and I’m not that good at much else 🙈). Running helps clear my mind and refocus on the happy memories we have all shared and on those bad days it even helps to take the anger out on the streets!
