Story
On Saturday 19th July, I will be taking part in the Relay for Life with other wonderful attendees of ((BOUNCE)) Colchester & Marks Tey.
It also marks my Auntie’s birthday, who sadly passed away a little over 2 years ago. Although it was not breast cancer that beat her, I’ll be thinking of her, as I make my way around the track.
As always I walk for my Mumma, my best friend and my cancer survivor.
Cancer touches all our lives, in one way or another, and anyway you can help support me and the team to make a difference is greatly appreciated.
If you can, please give donate to allow Cancer Research UK to do their fantastic work! You can read more below…
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making.
How does the money you raise power progress?
- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.
- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.
When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
Together we are beating cancer.
Thank you for your support.
