Oliver London marathon 2021

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Harry is a little boy who attended our son's school. He suffers from Duchene muscular dystrophy, a very cruel type of muscle wasting condition. Muscular dystrophy affect all muscles in the body and there is no cure.
30 years ago, when Veronique was in primary school, a little boy just like Harry was in her class. He hasn’t had the chance to grow into an adult or have a family. To think that 30 years on this disease is still affecting so many boys is unthinkable.
Your money will help fund research in therapies to slow the progress of the disease possibly even cure it! There are some really exciting advances, your money might mean researchers get the vital funds to make these new treatment available to Harry and other sufferers. There is no time to waste!
Oliver had turned 40yo last year in lockdown and it is was also the 40th London Marathon. Veronique already had a place and it just felt like a great challenge for us both! After covid postponed the event; we both did the virtual marathon and Oliver trained hard to run in London this year but a late injury to his knee means that he has had to change his challenges
Oliver is going to SWIM the marathon distance over the next 42 days. It’s going to take a lot of dedication and focus but hopefully it will also help his injury.
