My name is Lisa and I work at Hays Travel in Bootle, all the team are completing the 5k Liverpool airport run in memory of my son Joseph who we lost after a 2 and a half year battle in Alder Hey in 2012. Joseph was born with a heart defect and rare genetic disorder. We pretty much lived in Alder Hey his whole life and we became friends with the nurses and doctors who looked after us with such love and care. After I lost Joseph I went onto have a little girl who we actually named after our favorite nurse Olivia who looked after Joseph. Alder hey has played a massive part in our lives and we would not have got the time we had with Joseph if it was not for the treatment Joseph received at the hospital.

As I have always been a travel agent, doing this 5k run at Liverpool airport and raising money for the hospital just made perfect sense.

The team at Bootle is our fantastic manager Jonny who started all of this, Sean our assistant manager, Sam, Grace, Dahla, Kim, Kayleigh and me, Lisa, Joseph’s mum.

The whole team are so proud to do this in memory of Joseph and hopefully raise some amazing sponsorship for the hospital that is close to us all xxx
