Ben Nevis - Mountain climb · 2 May 2015

Our aim is to help patients and staff by purchasing equipment, funding research and improving the hospital's environment. We've pledged to raise money to build a new Brachytherapy Treatment Unit. This will keep the Centre at the leading edge of world-class cancer and haematological treatments.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visiting our JustGiving page.

Our cause.........

We are climbing Ben Nevis on 2nd May to raise money towards a new radiotherapy linac machine for 'friends of Bristol haematology and oncology'

Half of all cancer patients are treated with radiotherapy, either as their only treatment, or along with surgery or drugs (chemotherapy).

It is of course, our great hope that people should no longer need radiotherapy treatment; but cancer is still affecting those we all love. This endeavour is a little step to ensure that loved ones have access to treatment should the worst happen.

Now for a bit about 'The Ben'..........

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles. The summit is 1,344 metres (4,408 ft) above sea level. It is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of Scotland, close to the town of Fort William and is affectionately known as 'The Ben.'
