Myself and 2 friends are taking part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise money and awareness for a small, volunteer run charity called PEM Friends. The charity provides support and advice to people suffering from a rare skin blistering disease which is potentially life threatening. Pemphigus and Pemphigoid is so rare, little is known about the disease, both publicly and professionally, resulting in delayed diagnosis and trearment. Ultimately prolonging the pain and suffering for those eventually diagnosed.

This is a life long condition. There is no cure!

Two years ago my son was diagnosed with a skin blistering disease.

In doing the Kiltwalk, our aim is to help raise awareness of the disease and raise funds to help PEM friends continue to provide much needed support and advice to people with a diagnosis. PEM Friends also inform and advise medical professionals and assist with any research projects associated with the disease
