Richmond RUNFEST Kew Gardens 10K 2019 · 14 September 2019 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Claire: “Will you help me get fit?”

Stuart: “Of course. What do you want to do?”

Claire: “How about we give running a go? We could train to do a 5k. Not that I can even run for a bus...”

Stuart: “Let’s sign up to do a 10k run! It will be fun’”

Claire: “Ummmm what part of ‘I can’t run for a bus’ should I repeat....”

So we madly signed up for the Kew Gardens 10k and with a wish and a prayer, we’re hoping to run the whole thing by the time we get to September!

Dementia is horrible. It’s cruel. It transforms those we love into people we no longer recognise and who no longer recognise us. Both Stuart and I lost our Nans to dementia. Please help us to stop other people’s loved ones being taken away from them in the same way.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts and achy muscles x
