Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our Dad, Harold Behan passed away on 24th January this year.

As a tribute to him we have set ourselves a number of challenges for May and June to raise funds for Kerry Hospice and in particular the Palliative Care Centre in Tralee.

Dad spent three nights in the care of the nurses and doctors in the palliative care centre. We will be forever grateful for the care and dignity he was shown, and the support and time we were given as a family to be with him in his final days.

The challenges we have chosen to take on have significance for us.

Last year Caitriona took on the challenge of a swim a day in May for the Irish Cancer Society. Little did she know at the time that one year on we would be all too familiar with the harsh reality of cancer and its devastating effects. Dad stood on the shoreline many a day last May with a towel in hand waiting for her when she came out.

Our run on the 18th June starts from Ballyheigue. Dad spent of lot of his working life in the Ballyheigue area so this was the perfect running challenge for us.
