Laura Witts is raising money for Cancer Research UK

HCTG presents....The Beat goes on! · 26 November 2022

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

HCTG are raising money for Cancer Research UK and Music for My Mind!

HCTG over the years have raised more than £25,000 for Cancer Research UK via our Charity Concerts.

This year we have set ourselves the target of £10,000 which will be split between two charities very close to out hearts; Cancer Research UK and Music for my Mind

Most of the money raised will come from our fabulous concert on Saturday 26th November at the EMC in Harpenden (For tickets visit: https://the-emc.co.uk/events/the-beat-goes-on/). However, each year we know there are some people who are unable to attend yet still wish to show their support to our efforts.

If you wish to make a donation to support our charities, please do so on this fundraising page. While the proceeds from this Just Giving page will go directly to Cancer Research UK the aim is for the total proceeds from the event as a whole to be split 50:50 between CRUK and Music for my Mind

Music for my Mind:

Music for My Mind is an innovative charity aiming to improve the well-being of people with dementia, their families and carers by creating and making widely available, personalised playlists. We aim for everyone living with dementia to benefit from music as an integral part of the care they receive.

Cancer Research UK:

We’re the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information. Our pioneering work is changing lives on a global scale.

Cally Cardines, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for Hertfordshire said: “The Hurst Children’s Theatre Group is an absolute inspiration and we can’t thank them enough for their commitment to helping Cancer Research UK beat cancer sooner. It’s going to be a fantastic evening.

“One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some stage in their lives, but the good news is more people are surviving the disease now than ever before. Cancer survival in the UK has doubled since the early 1970s and Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress.

“However, we have only been able to achieve this thanks to the dedication and generosity of volunteers and supporters like The Hurst Children’s Theatre Group without whom we would not be able to fund outstanding scientists, doctors and nurses.”
