Headline are very pleased to be taking part in the Young Minds campaign this World Mental Health Day #HelloYellow. We will be holding bake sales, raffles, running quiz nights, wearing yellow, and even taking part in 5km park runs - all in aid of Young Minds.
For those of you who don't know about Young Minds, they are a charity fighting to raise awareness and offer help to children and young people with mental health problems. Across the UK 1 in 10 children aged 5 - 16 years will have a diagnosable mental health problem, such as anxiety, depression or an eating disorder. That is around three children in every classroom.
Young Minds work in the community with children, young people and their families, and also run projects in UK schools (e.g. helping children build emotional resilience, and supporting them through educational transitions). Young Minds also provide training and consultancy to teachers and educational professionals, AND they campaign for change. All in all - we think they are blooming wonderful.
As an education recruitment company, we are often talking to our schools and settings about the importance of mental health awareness and of having the right support available to children throughout their education. Many of the Headline team have worked in schools, nurseries and within Child and Adolescent Mental Health teams, and as such it is a campaign very close to our hearts.
Please support us however you can - let's dig deep for Young Minds!
