Story

Hello,

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. Many of you will know us Stefan (manager) and Amy from Heathbrook Fitness and know our love for burpees (more Amy's). We have decided to take on the ultimate challenge and complete 6000 burpees between us (3000each) on Thursday 26th November 2020. We will be completing these LIVE on Heathbrook Fitness Facebook and Instagram page from 9.30am on the day.

We have decided to raise money for Dudley Mind because we feel strongly that mental health is as important as physical health and believe that the two go hand in hand. We ourselves have experienced the effects that gym closures have had on our physical health and in turn affected our mental wellbeing. The second lockdown is so much harder this time round for us both physically and mentally with the colder weather and darker nights. This can lead to us becoming inactive and struggling both physically and mentally.

1 in 4 people will be affected by a mental health problem during their lifetime and the current pandemic has made this increasingly more previlant. We all know someone who's mental wellbeing has been effected in someway, shape or form and that's why we need local organisations like Mind Dudley who are there to help in times of need.

Dudley Mind is an amazing local charity helping many people, and although affiliated with Mind the national charity it is its own charity in its own right!

Dudley Mind support people with their mental wellbeing by providing peer mentoring groups either face to face or through online platforms.  These are for people who are experiencing anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder.  Since COVID-19 appeared there has been a lot of people, who have found life very difficult to manage and they have a support line which operates 7 days a week till midnight. They have received many calls from males who have found their resilience has been tested.  A large number of people have found it difficult to work from home, missing going into an actual workplace and also being furloughed has had a negative impact.

Charities like Dudley Mind need our help more then ever to be able to reach out and support as many people's mental wellbeing as possible.

Any donation big or small will be greatly appreciated and will help us reach the 6000 buprees between us!!

Thank you all again for your support for such an amazing charity.

From,

Stefan and Amy
