Hallowen 5 Nite Run · 31 October 2013

1 in 4 of us will have a mental health problem at some point in our lives. We can help. Oxfordshire Mind provides help, support & information to anyone affected by mental health problems. We have services all over the county, bringing support & advice to people in our local communities.

Story

I don't know why me jogging for a puny 5km should have any correlation with you donating money to charity.  I mean, I'm just doing this because I'm trying to get fit and I thought booking myself in to a race would keep my motivation up.

However, if you would like to sponsor my efforts (which I suppose at least means I can't back out) then please feel free to donate a few quid to Oxfordshire Mind.  They're an important mental health charity offering support and advice locally.

Until three weeks ago it had been about three years since I went jogging, so this is quite a huge personal challenge (basically starting at zero level of fitness/sporting prowess). My main goal for the race (31 October) is just to jog the whole thing - no walking. It's going to hurt.

Also I'm probably going to dress up as Kate Bush.

You can follow my training progress with "Zombies, Run! 5k" here.
