Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year I gave up alcohol and processed / hidden sugar for October to raise money in the memory of my friend Morag, and I won't lie, it was tough as I love going out. BUT I did it, and I raised over £1000 with matching contributions from my work.

I am proposing to do this again. For those who know me, I love sweeties, crisps and wine. So, not only can I not drink alcohol when I go out, but I can't replace it with coke, red bull.....or even lime and soda.

This also means no ketchup on my food, .....no processed foods, no hoisin sauce.....there is so much hidden sugars in our food that I'm giving myself a headache just thinking of what I won't be able to have.

I am a snacker, a grazer....I love food. This is going to be so very hard for me but I want to do this to raise money for Maggies in Dundee as Morag was a big supporter of them, and received help from them also towards the end of her beautiful life. While I think that this is hard, it's nothing compared to what people with illnesses go through.

Charities like Maggies needs our continued support, so that they can continue to help people like Morag through the most difficult times in their lives.

I will be keeping a food diary if anyone wants to check how good I'm going to be doing - glass half full thinking here :-)
