Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running - Marathon 2016 · 25 September 2016 ·

The Kabanda Trust supports education & health for children at Rock of Joy Children's Centre in Lungujja, Uganda. This enables children who would not otherwise be able to attend school to receive free education & healthcare. We try to develop self-sufficiency & construct permanent buildings.

Story

It's Heather's  Birthday in September!

She has always talked about running a marathon, so her brother, David, decided it was time for her to put these words into action and entered her into the Loch Ness Marathon as a birthday present!

Instead of running from the challenge Heather has gotten everyone else involved.

Its a first time marathon for Birthday Girl Heather, brother David and boyfriend Greg who are glad to have marathon-pro Emma with them every step of the way. Her other half Conrad, hoping to enjoy a day of rest and relaxation, was surprisingly enthused to hear he was joining the team!

So.... we are all headed to Scotland!

We will be running a really long way in the hopes of raising lots of money for the Kabanda Trust. An amazing charity, working to make difference to the lives of children in Nansana (a village on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda). Here many of the children suffer from the effects of HIV/AIDs, TB and malaria, creating increased health and educational needs.

It is a small organisation, locally run,  in Stoke, by Dr Thomas and Mrs Thomas.  Heather was lucky enough to work with and learn from Dr Thomas for 4 months in his GP surgery which the Kabanda Trust is linked with. It has already made a positive impact on the lives of the community it serves.

With your contribution,  the Kabanda Trust can continue to improve the lives of the young people in Nansana. So please give what you can.
