We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

I have taken on the challenge of running the Shifnal Half Marathon on 07/07/13 in memory of my brother Will who passed away in September 2012. Will was cared for on a number of occasions on the Young Peoples Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This unit is specifically designed to treat young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who are diagnosed with cancer and is partly funded by the Teenage Cancer Trust. We have chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust as the charity for people to donate to in memory of William.

The level of care that William received, especially in his last few weeks, on this ward was outstanding. The staff not only cared for William but for us as a family too. We have asked that any donations made are directed to the YPU ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham so that other families who find themselves in a similar position can benefit from the charity's work.
