Heather's Nijmegen Marches

Nijmegen Marches · 16 July 2019
Thank very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hello,
I'm Heather, I am 13 years old and want to help my mum raise more funds for The Veterans Charity. My Mum had the crazy idea to sign up for a 75 mile run . . . who would even do that! She is running the 75 miles to Pegasus Bridge in Normandy for the 75th Anniversary of the DDay Landings.
I have signed up for the Nijmegen Marches which is the largest Walking March in the World, participants are from all Nationalities and Military from all over the world will also be taking part. It is held in the town of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. It is being held in July. I will be walking 25miles each day for 4 consecutive days. My mum is going to accompany me
So, as everyone who knows me know I have a huge passion for History especially the World Wars and being a Military Child all my life (my mum has just left after Serving nearly 17yrs in the Army and my step-dad is still currently Serving), I have learnt a lot about the struggles Veterans face when going back into Civilian life.
The Veterans Charity are amazing. They have a rapid response, meaning a Veteran that is has no food for however long would have a meal delivered to where they are staying and the next day they would have a large delivery on food. This is just one example. You can find out more here:
https://www.veteranscharity.org.uk/
I have paid for entry fees, travel etc. All money raised will go straight to the Charity
Thank you so much on behalf of myself and The Veterans Charity
