Story
2025
2025 was a tough year right from the start. In January, my dad had a seizure that unmasked his dementia, changing our lives from that day on. In April he got his official diagnosis of Vascular Dementia and since then, I've being slowly saying goodbye to the man who would make up bedtime stories of fairies at the bottom of my garden, who taught me to drive, who walked me down the aisle, showed unconditional love to my kids and was always there for me no matter what. Dementia has taken my dad away from me and continues to do so in so many cruel ways.
So, as it's not in my nature to just sit and do nothing, for the month of January I will be raising money for Alzheimer's Scotland. Instead of walking 90k steps in a week, I'm going to be walking/running 90 miles throughout the whole month of January, just under 3 miles a day.
I've set up a Just giving page and any donations would be much appreciated.
