Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

After the tragic loss of my godmother’s son Joe in April last year I have decided to run the Bath Half Marathon in aid of British Heart Foundation. Joe had a congenital heart condition and died unexpectedly, aged only 26.

He was recently awarded the President’s Award posthumously at the CILT Annual Presentation for Excellence where his parents proudly collected his award from Princess Anne for being an ‘exceptionally talented individual and regarded as a rising star of the bus industry’. I grew up with Joe and have so many happy childhood memories, he was an inspiration and an excellent role model.

I chose the British Heart Foundation as they are an outstanding charity whose work doesn’t go unnoticed. The money you donate could go towards life changing research that could help people like Joe. In his memory I aim to raise £1000 for this worthwhile cause and any donation would be greatly appreciated, however big or small.
