Heather's 2.6 Challenge

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a Trustee of Crossway, I know how difficult it is at the moment for our clients - not being able to talk easily to friends and family in person or access our support face to face. We have had to embrace new technologies in order to continue helping them. Fundraising will also be very difficult this year as we are unable to organise events and functions in the usual way. This is a small local charity who will not benefit from the Government’s charity package during this crisis.
I am setting myself a challenge of going up/down 26 flights of stairs (13up/13 down) in a ‘normal manner’. Now this may sound very easy to most people but I haven’t been able to do this in over five years because of painful, arthritic knees that were getting worse following an injury about 20 years ago. After my first knee replacement last July I can sometimes go upstairs OK but still couldn’t come down normally. I either have to do it one step at a time or even backwards, despite some extensive physiotherapy.
Just recently I’ve been able to do the last 2-3 stairs normally so I have set myself a challenge of doing all 26 flights normally in 2.6 hours on Friday morning. It would be great if you could support me with this by sponsoring me and helping to raise vital funds for the charity.
