Our dear Heather tragically lost her life on 2nd November 2020 while out for a bike ride in Portobello, Edinburgh.

In lieu of funeral flowers, we set up a crowdfunding page to raise money towards a memorial bench and tree for Heather (link here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/heather-stronach).

Having surpassed that target, we now want to carry on and raise funds for charities that we believe Heather would want to support. We set up this new page to support the charity Sustrans. This way the charity can claim 25% Gift Aid on eligible donations (this is not possible on the original crowdfunding page). 

Sustrans are custodians of the National Cycle Network, a UK-wide network of traffic-free paths for everyone, connecting cities, towns and countryside, loved by the communities they serve. A link to their website provides further information on the role they undertake across the U.K.
